Project 3 – almost there

Project Management

I have seen two different types of project manager during previous projects; one who is enthusiastic and clearly cares about the project, but this can tend to make them panic when things do not run as smoothly as hoped, and the other who still cares and wants the group to do their best, but for this reason stays calm throughout the process, despite any difficulties. I would like to hope that having experienced both of these and reflected on what was more productive, I have stayed closer to the calm and collected style of leadership!

Communication

Our main form of communication has been through Facebook as we are able to send each other files. It is also useful for me as I am able to send a message and see when it has been read by the rest of the group as it says ‘seen by ____’. One member of the group has not been reading any of the messages since the end of the first week which has been frustrating. I have text the messages to them too, assuming, perhaps, that they were unable to access Facebook for a while, but still received no replies. Laura (CC) and Michaela (P&D) have been great at keeping me updated on progress and sending me stages of their work. I have made sure to reply every time, proof reading and sending back suggestions or even just to say ‘it’s looking great’, if no suggestions were needed.

Deadline

Unfortunately, we are lacking in research but are pushing forward nonetheless! I aim to email the work tomorrow. Michaela has finished the video and I will proof read Laura’s Wikipedia article once more before sending both to Justine in preparation for Friday.
